According to the fatwa issued by Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta
(No. 168/266, dated 24 Shawwal 1426 AH),the Egyptian Food Bank is recognized as a
legitimate recipient of Zakat funds
In turn, Zakat donations can be directed to the Egyptian Food Bank to
help fighting malnutrition and provide daily, monthly, or seasonal meals
to those in need through our various programs. This includes Iftar for
Fasting Persons Program, which distributes meals to low-income families,
single mothers, individuals unable to work, the elderly, and patients
across all governorates of Egypt.
